Lemuria
Lemuria is a 19th-century scientific hypothesis proposing a, sunken "lost continent" in the Indian Ocean that once connected Madagascar and India. Proposed in 1864 by zoologist Philip Sclater to explain the distribution of lemur fossils, it was discredited by plate tectonics but lives on in occult, Theosophical, and New Age folklore as an ancient civilization. see also Kumari Kandam and Dwarka
