Between September and October 2025, a couple living in a remote woodland area of northern Michigan reported multiple sightings of anomalous illuminated objects measuring roughly the size of a basketball. The witnesses, a 76-year-old artist and her 87-year-old psychologist husband, observed these lights at eye level in their yard, prompting an inquiry by the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC). Their isolated location and the recurring nature of the events make the case notable within current UFO investigations.
NUFORC continues to expand its database and actively participate in scientific discussions regarding unidentified aerial phenomena. In 2025, the organization has released hundreds of new reports and images, attended workshops sponsored by the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, and engaged in field research to analyze witness accounts. These efforts reflect a growing interest in studying UFOs with methodological rigor and collaborating with government and academic entities to understand these phenomena objectively.
