Lake monsters
Lake monsters are, within folklore and cryptozoology, large, unconfirmed aquatic animals said to inhabit deep freshwater lakes. These creatures—ranging from serpent-like monsters to plesiosaur-like beasts—are rarely seen, with evidence limited to anecdotal sightings, disputed photos, and sonar readings. Common examples include Nessie (Loch Ness) and Champ (Lake Champlain).
